The Korean Culture and Information Service (KOIS) at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and
Tourism, responsible for promoting Korean culture and enhancing the country's image abroad,
signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Arirang Television Station at 3 p.m. on Jan 7.

With the use of the station's networks in 37 different countries, this is a golden opportunity to
more effectively promote Korea.

KOIS stated that "the two influential powers working together will create a synergy for Korea's
brand enhancement and its global network," and added "especially since there are many large
scale events planned throughout this year, including the G20 Summit, UNESCO's 2nd World
Conference on Arts Education and the 60th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War, we
plan on effectively continuing to promote Korea to the world."
